Pinkie Pie hopped along the dirt path, happily humming a tune she had composed just this morning. The party plans were coming along perfectly. Even though she had no experience with organizing small affairs like this one, she thought she had a good handle on what was needed. Instead of a hundred balloons, twenty. A few streamers and one banner inside the room, as opposed to lavishing the whole house with colorful cloth. She trotted over to Fluttershy's home, brimming with pride at her skills in the art of partay. "Knock knock!" Pinkie chirruped gleefully.
A soft voice answered through the closed door, "Um, who's there?"
"Orange!"
"…Orange who?" She now opened the door a bit.
"Orange you glad that our party's this weekend?" Her brilliant smile nosed its way inside her house. The quiet pony backed up to let her inside.
"I, uh, guess…?" Fluttershy's cheeks turned the shade of her guest's skin.
"I even wrote a song for the event!" She took a pitch pipe out of her hair with her teeth and blew a note. Dropping it, she opened her mouth wide to belt it out. "Uh…Pinkie Pie?"
Pinkie Paused, mouth agape. "'Es?" she said, not shutting it.
"Um…you, you see, I'm not sure I mumble mutter mutter…"
The party girl shut her mouth and leaned closer. "…could you speak up?"
"I, uh, dunno about, um…you know…" Fluttershy stared at the floor. Was there a piece of candy down there? Pinkie checked it out, coming closer. Nope. Just floor. Could use a bit of sweeping later. She then nudged under her chin, so she could meet her eyes.
"It's okay…it's just me here. Nopony's gonna get mad." Their eyes met, if only for a brief moment.
"…I'm afraid they won't like me anymore." She sniffled, eyes starting to tear up. "I mean, it took me such a long, long time to make the ones I have…"
She started as she received a gentle kiss to her forehead. "It'll be okay. I know that some meanypantses out there wouldn't like us, but we're not inviting them." She smiled warmly. "Twilight's from Canterlot, a biiig city, and they're familiar with ponies like us. Quite cosmafalutin, as Rarity would say. And SHE works in the fashion industry, and…well, most of those people are like our sea serpent friend in the Everfree Forest. And Rainbow Dash…?" She giggled. "Trust me, she'll be happy for us."
"…what about Applejack?" The pink pony frowned.
"Weeelll… I really don't know. She's really good at sticking by her pals, but…she's also stubborner than a mule. And reeeally straightforward." Fluttershy nodded. "…she's a good friend, though. She will probably be a little confused at first, but with all of us helping her out, like buds should…? We'll bring her around."
Hesitantly, she took a step towards her. "So, you…you really think it'll, um, be okay…?"
"I know it. And…" Pinkie bit her lower lip. "…even if they all decided to stop being your friend…I'm here." She looked into her eyes. "I've been here for you since Filly Finishing School. I helped you make your first friends, even though you were afraid. We've been friends for so long….." She blushed. "…and I hope we'll be lovers for even longer."
Fluttershy smiled brightly, making the other melt inside. It was such a tender smile…and it was just for her. "I love you too." Then she leaned forward and kissed Pinkie Pie deeply. She had eaten a lot of pastries, puddings, and an assortment of other desserts over the years: but none could match the sweetness of Fluttershy's soft mouth.

CRASH.
The sound is so startling I almost scream. I don't, though; that could wake Angel, or that poor turtle I took in yesterday. His shell is so badly cracked, he needs all the rest he can get, and I wouldn't want to disturb him by screaming. I do hope the crash didn't wake him. Oh, and I hope whatever crashed is alright. I really should go investigate.
Before I can even get to the door, I hear a knock. I get there as quickly as I can, because if whatever's out there is hurt I shouldn't l

After Mare-day Gras...
The light from Celestia's noontime sun brightly shone into Twilight's sleeping face, causing the unicorn to cover her face with a foreleg. "Mmmph, 5 more minutes... I was up studying, ma..." Twilight's voice, still drowsy, didn't want to give in to the warm sun ray's urging her awake.
But, try as she might, the warmth from the sun gently urged her from her slumber. Giving a sigh, the unicorn slowly opens her first her left eye... Then her right eye creeps open as she stumbles out of her sleeping nook. Still half-asleep, Twilight trips down the steps and into the kitchen. "Mmmm, need tea... Wha-what happened last night...?" The last thing she
